Temporary Home

All my life I have paved a road.

As I've grown older my knowledge in this certain paving has increased and I have been able to pave ahead of myself.
Knowingly or not, we are ALL like this.
Our roads follow close by others, overlap with some, and are often in need of backtracking because of mistakes.
I saw my road clearly and despite minor details, it was...realistic.

Take a break from this analogy for a second and think..
Just One second..
One thought..
One word..
One answer..
One choice..
One decision..
One movement..
One...just one..
One THING,
can change
EVERY
thing..

What IF...
Your One road..The one YOU paved, the one you took the time to process, and the one you, in conscienceless, settled on for the rest of your life..
was suddenly out of reach.
Blocked off.
Reconstructed.
And destroyed.
You were told you would have to make your way down a new path.

One path..

A pathway you would have to pave in time to a road, step by step not knowing what was coming up next.

Well I can tell you one thing if that happened to you.

You'd end up just like me.

Population: 3,036

39 degrees 9' 13" N
111 degrees 48' 54" W

242 miles
3 hours and 53 minutes
away from my home.

this pathway i am now forced to be on..is literally a path.
dirt.
isolated.
small.
never traveled on.

Last weekend I false started in the race of my life.
why?
it wasn't fair.
it still doesn't seem that way at all.

life isn't fair.

He never said it would be easy
but He said it would be worth it.

I know the Lord has a plan for every single person on this earth. Sometimes we think we have this same plan. I am here to testify..we don't have a clue, and we will find the Lord's plan is infinitely better than what we can imagine. Even if we don't know why, how, or when it will make sense and forever happy, it will when we put or trust in the Lord.
the last verse of Hymn 124 "Be Still My Soul" has come to comfort me a lot during this trial.

When disappointment, grief, and fear are gone,
Sorrow forgot, love's purest joys restored.
Be still, my soul: When change and tears are past,
All safe and blessed we shall meet at last.

some stories need to be rewritten,
some roads are not to be traveled on,
some races aren't meant to be ran,
but the Lord will not fail me.
He has started a new chapter in my life,
He has opened a new course to adventure,
He is letting me sit this race out and go for a peaceful stroll instead,
the Lord has filled my life with a million new opportunities.

"When people ask her how she likes this place
She looks up and says with a smile upon her face

This is my temporary home, it's not where I belong
Windows and rooms that I'm passing through
This is just a stop on the way to where I'm going
I'm not afraid because I know
This is my temporary home."

there isn't just ONE choice.
that's why we rejoice in Christ's
Plan of Salvation
we are given the agency to choose which plans we follow, stories we will write, roads we will take, and which races to run through or slow down and enjoy the view.
The great about all of this.. through the change of
climate
town
people
school
clothing
state
friends
sports
neighbors
house
ward
weather
colleges
time zone
and whatever other life changing things in this life..
the gospel remains the same forever.

"From eternity to eternity he is the same, and his years never fail."
