I started playing basketball my sophomore year of high school. I was on the J.V. that year and started on the varsity the next year. We were region champs two years in a row. My junior year we lost in the state tournament but was a season that will always be my favorite and i will never forget it!
Quoting from a previous post about my Junior year playing basketball:
Basketball's officially over.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday(March 24-26) were the hardest days to face this devastating reality.
We had come so far. having one senior one the team and having five new players, no one would have expected us to go far.
we faced the odds.
we made it to the top of our division being
Region Champions

it was Reno or Bust for our team!

our hard work let the cards fall where they were meant to fall and we left with playing one game in the state tournament.
I thank the Lord
for giving our team confidence and letting our team's athletic abilities shine through.
we will
forever
be a
team
and a
family.
i love you girls, we will miss you Cassidy and Lark. thank you Coach Creer and Grandpa!
we love you! :)"
My Senior year of basketball was a tad different.
I played with my sister and was coached by my dad!
For a reason no one could ever figure out.. I was on the bench for the second half of the season.
Despite my broken heart and discouraged feelings, I was not about to let my team down.
