I know I already posted this video...but I am doing it AGAIN!
You need to watch this!
If you have seen it...watch it..Again!
I HATE the word "if".
"If only I was rich.."
"If only I was like her.."
"If only I was pretty.."
"If only I had that talent.."
"If only I was smarter.."
"If only I had a job.."
"If only I was 18.."
"If only I had nice clothes or nice hair.."
"If only I lived somewhere else.."
"If only he was my boyfriend.."
"If only I was skinny.."
"If only I was better.."
IF ONLY you would STOP!!
We ALL do this! Everyday! We pray, wish, and desire so many things that we have no control over.
But..There are a lot of things we CAN control, though we aren't as quick to ACT as we are to ASK.
Unless..
(You are waiting for action now! You are on the edge! You can almost feel something is coming ahead..)
The word "unless" is like the word "if" but there is a sense of hope and meaning. But we CHOOSE to more often use the word that usually just tears us apart. "If...If...If..." It makes a home in our heart and leaves nothing but a feeling of disappointment.
Well now.. I have completely no idea what I want to be.
My first year in seminary I started thinking about a mission. 21 was way too long of a wait. I decided I would just get married instead.
When our Prophet Thomas S. Monson announced the age of Sister Missionaries would be lowered to 19 I was more excited about the age of the Elders' age changing to 18 to think much of it.
Now that graduation is close and I am clueless, I have opened to options to what I want to do.
A mission being one of them.
An OPTION.
Chapter 1: Should You Serve a Mission?
Does the Lord need or want you to serve a mission?
How do you decide if you should go on a mission?
Is a mission for you?
So far this is all I have read from this book. Mostly because this is what applies to me right now.
For some reason I expected this book to say:
"If your name is McCall Grajek... you need to go on a mission."
Of course, it didn't. I felt like it could be me. So I started to think of whyI would go..
The purpose of a mission:
To find those who are lost in darkness and bring them to the light.
Why would I go?:
I LOVE the Lord. I really do! He is amazing. The gospel makes me so happy and it just seems selfish to not share it with everyone I can.
There are plenty of missionaries already, why me?:
I don't have a huge testimony of missionary work because I don't have any personal experiences with it. It is something I want to make apart of my life.
I also have no plans for graduation, college, a career, marriage or anything. A mission would certainly be a worth while year and a half.
Trial is Part of the Journey
There are just a few problems I have with serving a mission...
okay make that one.
homesickness.
I am a pretty big baby when it comes to sleeping away from home.
In the story Beauty and the Beast
Belle was a prisoner in a horrible castle. Sacrificing her home, her family, her everyday life, and her future for months and months.
Stuck between her "Once Upon A Time" and her "Happily Ever After"
she endured to the end of her adversity.
She finally realized the Princess she was meant to be.
The GREAT thing about serving a mission is that it is a Fairytale of its own.
There are beautiful castles all over the world.
These castles are the happiest place on earth. We filled our Father's love and receive His blessings from it.
The Temple is a comfort and is a home where we can feel safe. Knowing this gives me more courage to leave my home and always know The House of the Lord is near to me.
And going out on a mission is knowing you are a Princess of the Most High and Glorious King in the entire universe. It is Marvelous.
The reason I am writing this write now is because I may not know whether my future will aline me to serve a mission.
But I do know, a mission is for anyone who is willing to go.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
Now:"I just want to be happy"
Happiness isn't a destination. It is a way of travel.
My Dad showed me this video yesterday,
this prompted me to share with you my small testimony and my love for missionary work.
All of these young members who are called to serve are full of joy.
I was overcome with the spirit, I know missionary work is called of God.
I know it is to find those who are lost.
I know it is the ultimate way to save lives. Even if it is just yourself you are saving.
"Remember the worth of the souls is great in the sight of God;"

I love the Lord. The Savior. & The Gospel. The Church is True No Matter What YOU do.
